Privacy Policy
Effective 1 June 2026
Most of what you do in Lumberjack never leaves your device. The only personal information that reaches us is your email address, and only if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter. When you visit, we also collect basic, anonymous analytics and the standard technical data needed to serve the site and keep it secure. This policy explains each of those.
1. Your tasks and projects stay on your device
Everything you create in Lumberjack, such as your tasks, projects, and notes, is stored in your own web browser on your device. It is never sent to us, and we cannot see it. There is no account and no sign-up. You can export your data at any time to keep your own copy. If you clear your browser data, that information is gone, and we cannot recover it for you.
2. Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address so we can send you updates. The form uses an automated check to block bots. Your email is then sent to our own newsletter system, which runs on our servers in France. We use double opt-in, so you will be asked to confirm by email before you are added. We use your email only to send you updates about Lumberjack, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
3. Analytics
We use Umami to understand how the site is used, for example which pages people visit and how they move through them. Umami is privacy-focused: it does not use cookies, and it does not collect personal information that identifies you. What we see is aggregated and anonymous. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.
4. Hosting and security
Our site is served and protected by Cloudflare. To do this, Cloudflare processes technical information about your connection, such as your IP address, and may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell real visitors from bots. This is not used to track you or for advertising.
5. Cookies
Lumberjack does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The only cookies are the strictly necessary Cloudflare security cookies described above.
6. Your choices and rights
Because almost everything stays on your device, the only personal information we hold is your email address, and only if you subscribed. You can ask us what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or unsubscribe at any time. To do any of these, use the contact form on our website, or the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email.
7. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time. For a material change, we will update the date above and note it in the newsletter. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, you can reach us through the contact form on our website.
